Two men aged 37 and 24 have been arrested following a suspected arson attack at a flat in the Mount area of east Belfast last night (Wednesday 16 September).
The incident happened shortly after 10:40pm. No one was inside the property at the time.
Police say the windows of the first floor flat were damaged.
It’s believed that a quantity of wood was placed in the flat and set alight, which caused damage to the property. Firefighters from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire.
The men were arrested a short time later on suspicion of arson endangering life with intent. They are currently in police custody at this time.
Detective Sergeant Eric Fairfield is appealing for witnesses.
