Suspected illegal drugs were recovered and items seized for further examination following two searches in Carrickfergus on Friday (7 May).
Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) officers conducted the searches as part of ongoing investigations into suspected criminality linked to South East Antrim UDA.
Searches were conducted at two residential addresses.
Detective Inspector O’Neill said these searches illustrates police determination to tackle all aspects of criminality being carried out by those purporting to be operating under the convenient flag of a paramilitary organisation.
“Paramilitaries are not defenders of their communities. They are criminals who prey on vulnerable people and exploit whatever circumstances they can for their own gain.
