A handbag, which contained keys and cash, was stolen during a burglary at the home of an older person in east Belfast yesterday evening (Friday 1 October).
Police are probing a possible link between this incident and another.
Detective Sergeant Fairfield said at around 7.30pm, police received a report of a burglary at the home of an older person at Knock Eden Park.
The occupant reported that a man had entered the premises and made off with her handbag, which contained keys and cash.
The man, who headed in the direction of Cherryvale Park, was described as being approximately 5ft 4”, of slight build, and was dressed in a grey and navy top with the hood up.
Several hours later, at around 10.50pm, it was reported that a second incident had taken place at a house at Knock Eden Crescent.
“The female occupant reported that she had left the property at around 2.45pm, and returned shortly before 10pm to discover that a number of rooms had been ransacked.
“Nothing is believed to have been taken at this stage.
“Our enquiries into both of these incidents are ongoing, and we are investigating a possible link between them. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have any CCTV footage, or any other information which could assist us.
