Two kittens have reportedly suffered the same cruel fate as a cat which was butchered in Portadown last week.
Last week, Ashton Blair came home to find her cat Gizmo lying in her garden with his left side completely ripped off.
“He was covered in scratches and missing chunks of hair round his face and eyes. He couldn’t walk and barely had the strength to cry. At first I thought he’d been attacked by dog or hit by a car before crawling home to die but sadly all evidence makes me believe this isn’t the case,” she wrote on Facebook.
Two kittens have reportedly since been discovered with the same injuries as Gizmo.
Ashton suspects that Gizmo was completely butchered by a person.
“Gizmo was a real wee home bird, he hardly ever even crossed the road. So there is someone out there who has brutally attacked and murdered my cat! So cat owners please be aware and be extra cautious as you never know who is living around you and what people are capable of! As for the person who has done this, I hope you can live with yourself after taking away a family pet and traumatising two little boys,” she said.
Northern Ireland Says No To Animal Cruelty is asking cat owners in the Corcrain/Redmanville areas of Portadown to be vigilant.
They understand that a cat in the same area had to be euthanised due to antifreeze poisoning.
“There is some very dark sadistic person at work here and they need to be caught.
Please report any suspicious activity and keep your pets safe indoors,” said a spokesperson.
