Two men were arrested after a glass was thrown at May McFettridge during the pantomime in the Grand Opera House on Saturday night.
The men, aged 32 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including criminal damage and disorderly behaviour. They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident during the staging of Jack and The Beanstalk at the Great Victoria Street venue in Belfast.
It’s understood the glass shattered and the musical director and several people in the front rows were showered with glass. The private boxes are the only areas where glass is permitted.
Constable Jonathan Thompson is appealing to anyone who was at the 7pm performance on Saturday evening and witnessed this incident to contact police in Belfast on 101 quoting reference number 1282 of 15/12/18.
“Thankfully, there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” he added.
