Two men have been arrested following an armed robbery in Corporation Street in Belfast last night (Saturday 14 November).
The incident happened at around 9:35pm.
Police say two men were parked in a car park in the area. The men then got out of the car when they were approached by two unknown men.
The men then reportedly threatened the two men. Police say one of them was armed with a suspected knife.
The men then allegedly took a mobile phone, a wallet and a sum of money from the men and then made off from the scene.
A short time later, two men aged 26 and 24 years old were arrested on suspicion of robbery and other offences following the incident. Both men are currently in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Faulkner is appealing for witnesses.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information or who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1743 14/11/20. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” he added.
