Two men escaped through an upstairs window after a fire broke out at a flat in Ballymoney last night.
Police and NIFRS responded to the blaze on Charles Street, which was reported at 9:25pm.
Inspector Stephen McCafferty said thankfully, no injuries have been reported in what was a terrifying ordeal for the occupants.
“The cause of the fire remains under investigation and we would appeal to anyone with information about what happened to call us on 101, quoting reference number 1325 of 25/12/20,” he added.
Councillor Philip Anderson paid tribute to the emergency services.
“It might be Christmas Day but for many emergency service personnel, it’s just another day out there protecting our communities,’ he said. “I thank them for their service and thank all those supporting them. I also thank their families.”
