A Queen’s University student is one of two people who have tested positive for the coronavirus COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.
The two people are not connected. One of those diagnosed recently arrived from northern Italy, while the other adult had been in contact with a person who has been confirmed as having the coronavirus.
The latest cases were confirmed by the Department of Health this afternoon (Wednesday).
Queen’s University said it has been informed by the Public Health Agency of this presumptive positive case of coronavirus.
Representatives are now attempting to trace those who have been in contact with the person diagnosed to ensure they are supported to receive medical attention if required.
The university is open and operating as usual.
