Vandals have ripped out part of the wall at Ballyclare Free Presbyterian Church.
It’s the latest church to have fallen victim to vandals and anti-social behaviour in the town.
There have been nearly 450 attacks on churches in three years.
In April, thugs hurled paint bombs at the Catholic Church which is less than half a mile from the Free Presbyterian Church.
A representative from the Free Presbyterian church said the decision to close Ballyclare Police Station has not made the town a more secure place.
The church has been attacked multiple times over the past few years.
In this latest incident, a hole was punched through the store of the hall, and the vandals reportedly set the wood on fire with a gas canister.
A spokesperson said young people congregating around the church has been a problem throughout the summer months.
And the church is keen for action to be taken urgently to address the problem.
Yet again, Ballyclare Free Presbyterian Church has become victim of vandalsim and anti-social behaviour, this time with a large section of Church Hall wall ripped out.When will relevant authorities listen and accept there is an escalating problem with anti-social behaviour and that present policing policy is not effective?The decision to close Ballyclare Police Station, after spending millions of pounds on its refurbishment, along with the removal of community neighbourhood policing has not made Ballyclare a more secure place!Ballyclare FPC is now 446 on the list of religious properties attacked during the last three years.A serious re-think is needed!
