High street voucher emails informing applicants about identification problems are genuine, according to the Department for the Economy.
A number of people have received the emails from the address – ‘noreply@spendlocalni.com’ with the subject line ‘Failed Verification.’
The email states the identify has not been verified and it asks the applicant to upload documents to verify they live in Northern Ireland.
The email also states that the evidence must be provided within seven days.
Concerns had been raised over whether or not they were genuine.
