A fire has been put out at Chester Zoo, which earlier led to an evacuation.
The zoo announced on its Twitter feed that the blaze had broken out in its Monsoon Forest habitat.
We can confirm that the fire brigade is currently fighting a fire in our Monsoon Forest habitat.
Visitors have been evacuated & our response team is working alongside emergency services to bring the situation under control.
The zoo is now closed. We’ll update as soon as we can.

It said earlier that teams were working to bring the blaze under control and to move all animals away from the fire.

The zoo is one of the most popular tourism attractions in the UK.
Praying all the animals are uninjured and accounted for along with their keepers at #Chesterzoo. And anyone moaning about refunds at this time needs to look at the bigger picture, im sure you'll get refunds, let them deal with with this, the animals and staff are priority.
