Police have issued a renewed appeal for witnesses, following the death of Kai Corkum (3) in a collision in Newtownards around 5.20pm on Thursday (December 13).
Kai was taken to hospital following the incident but sadly died from his injuries yesterday afternoon (Friday).
Tributes have been paid to the child on social media.
Appeals have been made for traffic calming measures on the Movilla Road.
The news of little Kai Corkum’s passing is truly heartbreaking. The kind of news no family wants to hear this close to Christmas. Without knowing the full circumstances it’s hard to comment, but surely something can be done to reduce the speed on the Movilla Road? @JimShannonMP

Police are asking anyone who was in the Movilla Road area of the town around that time on Thursday afternoon and witnessed the collision to get in touch with them as soon as possible, as they may have information vital to the investigation.
“If you were driving in the area you may also have dashcam footage – and if you do, again I would urge you to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1000 of 13/12/18,” said Inspector O’Connor.
