An improvised weapon has been found under a sewage manhole cover at Holy Cross Boys’ Primary School in Ardoyne in north Belfast, the police have said.
They believe it was intended for use in a dissident republican attack on police.
The school was evacuated on Monday.

The school will be closed again on Tuesday.
According to Chief Supt Jonathan Roberts, the weapon had the ‘potential to fire a high-calibre round.’
The plastic package containing the weapon was discovered under a sewage man-hole cover by the principal and caretaker during work.
Principal, Kevin McArevey said he was shocked at the discovery.
In a tweet, North Belfast MLA Nichola Mallon the incident was a ‘disgrace.’
