The Siege of Carrickfergus takes place on Monday, August 26 at the castle.
This is a free day of entertainment, re-enactment, pageantry, canon and musket firing, craft demonstrations, falconry display, dinosaur walkabout, pop up cinema showing Brave and a vintage market. It all takes place on Bank Holiday Monday.

Looking ahead to next year and one to put in the diary is Give My Head Peace Live at Larne Leisure Centre on March 19, 2020.
After last year’s sold out tour the two dysfunctional families return to the stage with a new show. It will feature your favourite characters, plots, jokes, and up-to-the-minute topical satire as well as some stand-up comedy from Tim McGarry.
The show does contain adult references, so it may not be suitable for young children.

Charis treasure hunt and fundraiser takes place on August 24.
The car treasure hunt and barbecue is aimed at raising much needed cash for Charis Cancer Care Centre.
It exists to support people affected by cancer at every stage of their journey. They also assist and support the families of those living with cancer or any family member bereaved by cancer.

Running Scared takes place at Hazelbank, and it’s just in time for Halloween.
Spooky attire is encouraged. Skeletons, witches, zombie-brides and evil clowns, the choice is yours but there will be prizes for the best costumes.
All finishers of the run will receive a medal and fun runners will be awarded a smaller medal.
The Murders’ Mile run is designed for families, and it’s only £6 to enter. The idea is to bring any of the hidden murder weapons back to the finishing line.
There will be a Halloween party afterwards.
Start times:
The five mile run will start at 11am.
The one mile run will start at 11.10am.
The five mile route begins with a lap around the park before heading towards the shore path. It will then head out to Jordanstown Park, and back again.
The one mile route will consist of two laps of the Hazelbank Park. It is flat route and marshals will guide runners.
There will be first-aiders along the route and at the finish line.

A travelling theatre group is set for a night of music and entertainment, when suddenly the lights go out and the mysterious phantom appears.
Stealing the cast one by one, the audience will have to deduce who among the people could be the dreaded phantom. Tickets include a fork supper.

Ballet Ireland brings its latest production of Swan Lake to the Millennium Theatre in Derry,
This is one of the great love stories of classical ballet.
This show combines romantic themes, classical technique and ethereal imagery, with Tchaikovsky’s score.
Swan Lake tells the story of Odette, a beautiful princess, who turned into a swan by day by magician Von Rothbart, only to regain her human form at night.
Out hunting by the lakeside, Prince Siegfried meets her and falls in love with her.
It’s staged on November 9.
