To Belfast first and the Irish Vegan Festival is on Sunday, April 5 at the Europa.
As always this event is hugely popular thanks to the growing interest in veganism.
There will be music, stalls, talks and children’s entertainment and plenty of delicious food.

Veganism is also a topic at Imagine -The Belfast Festival of Ideas & Politics. There will be a documentary screening, Q&A, animal rights and vegan food stalls. The event takes place on Thursday, March 26, from 8:15pm to 10:15pm. The feature documentary produced by actor and activist Joaquin Phoenix follows the journey of six young Americans who find themselves targeted as terrorists by the US government for their involvement in a controversial animal testing protest campaign.

The Portglenone Bluebell Festival is on Saturday, April 25 from 11am to 3pm.
Experience one of the best displays of bluebells in the country with expert guides on hand, environmental stalls, a coffee van and crafty games for the kids.

The Ballymoney Spring Fair blooms into town on April 10. Ballymoney will transform into a sea of colour and there will be live music and artisan markets.
There will be events at the Ballymoney Showgrounds, Castlecroft Square and Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre grounds. On Friday join Hugo Duncan live from Castlecroft Square.
The Saturday kicks off with a quiet morning for children with additional needs at The Showgrounds. Following this, get crafty at the workshops, watch some dog agility and obedience demonstrations, visit the animal farm or take a pony ride. Other highlights include horse-shoe demonstrations and live music. There will also be laser tag, laser clay shooting and a climbing wall.
The highlight of the festival will be the vintage cars cavalcade and carnival parade.

The annual spring weekend will take place at Creative Gardens, Bushmills on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April.
With the longer, lighter days you can come along and enjoy some Easter fun for the whole family. There will be lambs or you can plant seeds and even take part in a scavenger hunt. There will be a charity raffle with prizes, and a kids’ giveaway. The event is in aid of Marie Curie.

Methodist College is bringing its annual Easter concert to the Waterfront Hall in Belfast on 12 March. The event will showcase the best in youth talent. The concert will feature the award winning choirs, orchestras, big band, traditional and jazz groups. In the second part of the concert, Methody’s Senior Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Director of Music, Ruth McCartney MBE, will present A Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott.
This concert will be introduced by the BBC’s Kathy Clugston, a former pupil of the College.

It’s the first Steam of 2020 at Whitehead Railway Museum on Saturday 14 March.
The museum will be celebrating St Patrick’s Weekend with steam train rides and a themed Treasure Hunt.
Families can experience a taste of steam travel with a mini steam train ride departing from Whitehead Excursion Platform. Jump aboard and explore the restored carriages, pick your seat, get your ticket stamped by the conductor, watch for the signals and feel the rail deal!

Fidelio will be shown at the Theatre at The Mill in Newtownabbey next Tuesday (March 17).
Beethoven’s only opera is a masterpiece, an uplifting story of risk and triumph. In this new production, conducted by Antonio Pappano, Jonas Kaufmann plays the political prisoner Florestan, and Lise Davidsen his wife Leonore (disguised as ‘Fidelio’) who daringly sets out to rescue him.
The music includes the famous Act I Quartet, the Prisoners’ Chorus and Florestan’s impassioned Act II cry in the darkness and vision of hope. Tobias Kratzer’s new staging brings together the dark reality of the French Revolutionary ‘Terror’ and our own time to illuminate Fidelio’s inspiring message of shared humanity.

Easter in Art will be taking place on 7 April at the Theatre at The Mill.
The story of Christ’s death and resurrection has dominated western culture for the past 2000 years. It is the most significant historical event of all time, as recounted by the gospels but, equally, as depicted by the greatest artists in history.
This film explores the Easter story as depicted in art, from the time of the early Christians to the present day. Shot on location in Jerusalem, United States and throughout Europe, the film explores the different ways artists have depicted the Easter story.

This event takes place on Wednesday 15 April.
Come along to the monthly disco to dance, socialise and make new friends. The DJ will be playing a range of music from ABBA to Derek Ryan. If you can come independently you are welcome to do so.
