Lurgan-based cross-community group, Building Bridges Community Arts Theatre, is back with another hilarious Sam Cree comedy at Lurgan Town Hall this Friday (September 20).
Family Fever is busting at the seams with colourful characters and merry misunderstandings. Join the Galbraith family in the lead up to the arrival of their first grandchild.
The play is written by Ulster playwright, Sam Cree and it tells the story of family and friends who stick together no matter what life throws at them. Sam Cree’s works are renowned for their humour, characters and appeal.

Cinemagic is coming up and this is an event for young people to experience the magic of cinema. There are various events taking place.
Film critic, broadcaster and journalist Mark Kermode returns to Cinemagic for his annual Film Night to introduce and discuss Kiki’s Delivery Service, his 2019 festival pick.
Mark will be sharing his thoughts on the year’s new film releases and talking about the important role film festivals play in promoting independent and cultural cinema as Cinemagic celebrates its 30th festival, before answering questions from the audience.
Kiki’s Delivery Service is an enjoyable slice of anime from director Hayao Miyazaki, creator of such classics as Spirited Away. English Language Version.
Another part of Cinemagic is the screening of A Star is Born featuring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. It tells the story of a musician helps a young singer find fame as age and alcoholism send his own career into a downward spiral. It’s an Oscar winning feature directed by Bradley Cooper, rated 15. It’s being screened at the Ulster Museum, part of Museum Lates when you can experience the Ulster Museum after hours. All galleries and exhibitions will remain open, and this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the latest displays at your leisure, and the perfect way to start the weekend. This event takes place on September 26.

The Mid Ulster School of Music will be celebrating its 15th birthday with an event at The Terrace Hotel in Magherafelt on September 28 from 2pm to 4pm and more details are available online.

Faulty Towers comes to Walsh’s Hotel in Maghera on Saturday, November 30.
When the audience become diners in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant and are served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, pretty much anything can happen. The fun starts as guests wait to be seated, then hurtles along with some shambolic service.

The 7th Irish Vegan Festival coming to Belfast on October 6 in aid of Farplace Animal Rescue. Brownins Food will be bringing their amazing Caribbean food, as will Truffleupagus Vegan Yums, and the wonderful Art With Ethics, creators of art inspired by animals, created using vegan/cruelty free supplies.
Bubbasmeltys will showcase their gothic wax melts and candles for Halloween.
There will also be a range of talks including why you should adopt a vegan lifestyle, if you care for the animals, the environment and your health.
Dr Lorraine Hanna will also be at The Irish Vegan Festival. She will give a talk and this will be followed by a screening of Dr Michael Greger’s presentation ‘How Not to Die: The Role of Diet in Preventing, Arresting and Reversing Our Top 15 Killers’. This presentation discusses the evidence for the prevention and treatment of disease such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease through a plant-based diet.

Ireland’s top entertainers will be performing at the Grand Opera House in Belfast on September 24 to pay tribute to broadcaster, Gerry Anderson.
Brian Kennedy, The Adventures, The Miami Showband, Bronagh Gallagher, Rose-Marie, and Malachi Cush, will perform in the intimate setting of the Grand Opera House and will also share their fond memories of Gerry. The event will be hosted by Robin Elliott and Sarah Travers.
It will be a night among friends and a chance to reminisce about the life and work of one of Northern Ireland’s finest and funniest men.
At least £10 from every ticket will go to Action Cancer, Foyle Hospice and Tiny Life – the premature baby charity.
