An elderly woman was the victim of a burglary in the Wynnland Road area of Carnmoney on Tuesday night.
Police say a young man with short dark hair may have been involved in the incident.
And they say with the nights getting darker, residents should look out for elderly neighbours to ensure they remain safe in their own homes.
“With the nights drawing in, it’s even more important we keep an eye out for our family and neighbours, especially the more vulnerable members of our community. Report anything suspicious.
“If you see people around your elderly neighbours’ houses, check up on them. It’s not being nosey, it’s being a community. We all have a responsibility to do our bit,” said a police spokesperson.
