Company director (50) sustains serious face and leg injuries after being abducted from Derrylin home and assaulted

A 50-year-old man was abducted from his home in Derrylin in Co Fermanagh last night and subjected to a serious assault.

Director of Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH) Kevin Lunney was taken from his home at around 6.40pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 17 September), and was seriously assaulted before being left at the side of the road at Drumcoughill, Cornafean in County Cavan.


He was discovered by residents just before 9pm and was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries to his face and leg.

Police say their inquiries are at a very early stage they are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a black saloon Audi being driven in the Derrylin, Fermanagh/Swanlinbar, Cavan areas to contact police or Gardaí.

Detective Inspector Trevor Stevenson said it was a ‘horrific attack’.
