A woman in her forties was assaulted and had her car window smashed after stopping to help two men she believed needed assistance in Rathcoole.
The incident happened on Sunday morning (11 July).
Sergeant Davy Boyd said the woman was driving in the Derrycoole Way area of Rathcoole at around 9.30am.
The woman saw a man lying in the road, with another man appearing to be administering first aid.
The woman stopped and got out of her car to help but she was grabbed from behind and threatened by a third man.
The woman managed to get back into her car and began to drive off when the three man attacked the vehicle.
One of the men smashed the driver’s side window with a brick.
One of the men is believed to have been wearing a grey hooded top, with the hood up while a second was described as having short, shaved dark hair.
All three spoke with local accents.
