Woman in 20s hit by car in Cookstown in the early hours

A pedestrian in her 20s has been taken to hospital after being knocked down in Cookstown in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, April 6)

The collision on James Street, which is understood to be ‘serious’ involved a black Seat Leon car. It was reported to police shortly after 3:20am.  The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.


Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident and they want to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage.

“I want to appeal to anyone who was in the James Street area around the time the collision was reported to us and who witnessed what happened, or any driver who may have captured the collision on their dash cam to call us on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference number 160 of 06/04/19,” said Sergeant Clifford.

A number of roads that were closed have since re-opened.
