Earlier, a crowd of around 100 young people had been engaged in anti-social behaviour in the Oldpark area, drinking and jumping on and damaging cars.

Police estimate some were as young as 13-years-old.

They’re issuing a warning to parents to be wary of where their children are:

“Parents, you really need to step up to the plate here and know where your kids are. Question where they’re going and who they’ll be with. If you suspect they’re going to be involved in this type of behaviour, have a word with them.

“This doesn’t just apply to local parents – these youths are traveling from surrounding areas and engaging in behaviour that really is showing a total disrespect to local residents and the local community in general,” said a spokesperson.
