A woman was thrown to the ground in a hijacking on the Ormeau Road in Belfast overnight.
She had parked her car, a white Fiat 500, outside a fast food takeaway near the junction with Fitzroy Avenue shortly before midnight on Thursday (9 July).
As she was getting out of the car a man approached and threw her to the ground before getting into the car and driving off city-wards at speed. The woman sustained cuts and bruising as a result of the incident.
Following a number of enquiries, police say the car was recovered shortly before 3am parked in the street at Fairhill Park in north Belfast.
It has been taken away for examination.
Detective Sergeant Rachel Miskelly is appealing for witnesses.
