A woman was left traumatised after her home was ransacked by four men, one of whom is believed to have been armed with a gun in Belfast.
At around 5pm yesterday (Tuesday), four unknown men knocked on the door of a house and when the woman opened it, one of the men, who is believed to have had a gun, forced her into the property.
Police say the men then entered the house and proceeded to ransack it.
Detectives are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary.
They made off with a sum of money.
The woman was not injured during this incident, however she has been left extremely traumatised by her ordeal.
Detective Sergeant O’Flaherty said this was a ‘cowardly act’ by a group of men who thought nothing of frightening an innocent woman.
“I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in this area to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1335 03/12/19.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added Detective Sergeant O’Flaherty.
