Wrightbus set to enter administration

Ballymena based bus manufacturer Wrightbus is set to enter administration as employees turn up for work.

Sky News says the company is expected to formally appoint Deloitte as administrator following weeks of talks with potential buyers.

Over 1,300 jobs are at risk.

The company has been suffering cash flow issues and had been investigating the possibility of investment or a new owner.

The firm is best known for building the New Routemaster, known as the ‘Boris Bus’.

DUP MP Ian Paisley has said the entering into administration is now an ‘inevitability.’

Wrightbus managers are due to meet with unions later today.
