Eighty nine per cent of people will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day whether or not they are Irish.
That’s according to a survey carried out by EduBirdie.
They dived into Gen Z to find out how they like to spend the popular Irish holiday, with over 2000 asked their views.
- 89% of those surveyed reported that they will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day whether or not they are Irish.
- 70% said they will be participating in a local bar crawl with their friends.
- Almost 20% of Gen Z said they will be staying in at a house party to celebrate the holiday.
- Can’t forget about the corned beef hash! Almost 50% of those surveyed shared that they will be eating the Irish meal at some point during the holiday.
- More than 75% of those surveyed reported that beer will be their drink of choice for St. Patrick’s Day.
- Less than 10% said that they would be drinking hard liquor such as vodka and tequila because they need to pace themselves to make it through the entire day.
- A majority of Gen Z shared that they will start celebrating the holiday in the morning and continue to party into the night.
- A majority (63%) of those surveyed also shared that they celebrate the holiday on a Saturday rather than the actual day of St. Patrick’s Day if it falls on a weekday.
- 74% of those surveyed reported that they dress in green to celebrate the holiday.
- Just under half of Gen Z reported that they will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day both the weekend before and after the actual holiday.
