The son of murdered Cookstown prison officer David Black has been elected to Mid Ulster Council.
Kyle Black will represent the DUP in the Carntogher DEA.
David Black was killed in Co Armagh in November 2012 while on his way to work at Maghaberry. A car drove up alongside him and fired a number of shots. His car veered into a ditch. Mr Black was the 30th prison worker to be murdered since 1974 in Northern Ireland.
Speaking to Radio Ulster, Kyle said his dad was a huge influence on his life.
