Climber aged in his 60s dies in accident near Ballycastle

A man in his 60s has died in a fall while climbing Fair Head near Ballycastle this afternoon.

Emergency services, including the coastguard, the PSNI and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service were called to the scene around 1pm. A coastguard rescue helicopter from Prestwick also attended the large scale operation.


The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.

The Fair Head car park was closed to the public to allow access for the emergency services and police.
