A number of cats have been reportedly been poisoned in the Ballycastle area.
One of the victims was popular north coast photographer Kevin McAuley’s cat called O Malley.
A devastated Kevin has posted on Facebook, branding those who poisoned his beloved cat as ‘scum.’
Kevin said poison had been placed into ham and the meat sewn up. He said he came home yesterday to find the cat could not stand or breathe.
I do hope that you feel proud of your actions. Is this the society that we live in? This could have been a young child’s pet! It wasn’t but the hurt is just the same.
Kevin is appealing to pet owners to be vigilant to poisoned ‘booby traps’ for ‘defenceless dumb animals.’
They would also do it to humans if they thought they could get away with it. O Malley R.I.P.
