Almost 500 jobs will be lost at Bombardier in Northern Ireland.
The aircraft manufacturer said it had to cut costs to ensure its long-term competitiveness.
Bombardier is one of the biggest employers in Northern Ireland. It employs around 5,500 people in Northern Ireland, including around 4,000 at its Belfast factory.
Workers have faced uncertainty in recent times. The jobs are expected to go in February or March.
Earlier this month, the firm announced plans to shed 5,000 jobs globally as part of a restructuring initiative aimed at saving around £146m.
