Art work by Leonardo da Vinci will be displayed at the Ulster Museum

Art work by Leonardo da Vinci is set to go on display in Belfast.

The exhibition, Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawings, will feature 12 drawings demonstrating painting, engineering, sculpture, anatomy, cartography, architecture, geology and botany.

The display has been organised by the Royal Collection Trust and it will mark 500 years since Leonardo da Vinci’s death. The Ulster Museum is one of 12 locations which will exhibit the pieces as part of a nationwide event.

Works on display to the public will include:

The Head of St Anne, c.1510-15

The bones and muscles of a bird’s wing, c1512-13

The skull sectioned –   an anatomical drawing from 1489

A map of the Arno east of Florence, 1504

Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawings opens at the Ulster Museum on February 1 and it runs until May 6.

Admission is free.
