As voters take to the polls across Northern Ireland today, we take a humorous look at dogs at polling stations across the UK.
It’s the quirky political statement that pops up during every election, but are you actually allowed to take your dog with you to vote?
Yes, your dog is allowed to join you at the polling station, although they won’t be able to vote.
They must be kept under control so that they don’t disrupt proceedings.
If you own a horse, you can also bring it to the polling station – although it must be tied up securely outside.
