Bogus callers are continuing to prey on elderly and vulnerable people in the area.
A man claiming to be from NI Water Service called at the home of an elderly woman in Parkgate, asking if he could test the water for salt.
She allowed him entry and watched as he lifted several pots and pans from cupboards in the kitchen and began running the water.
The man is described as being ‘hefty with short dark hair.’
The lady then observed two ‘young boys’ in her garden. She asked the man in the house to check and he left the property and ran off with the other two in the direction of Ballyclare.
Police say nothing was taken but that something had been planned.
“If anyone calls at your house claiming to be from a utilities company you can call 101 and we will check this out. Any information on this incident please contact police quoting 558 of 04/05/20,” said a police spokesperson.
