Teenage boys in Carrickfergus have been targeted via a fake Instagram account.
The messages, purportedly from a teenage girl, asked them to send indecent images of themselves.
Police have confirmed that the @sarahhbrownn14 is fake. They said they had been contacted by concerned parents.
As the image shows, the girl in the profile picture appears to be a stock image.
Police are warning young people not to make friends or accept requests from people they do not know.
“Sarah here looks pleasant enough, Sarah could be legit. Sarah could also be someone else entirely. Take five minutes and have this chat with your kids, show them or share this image,” says a PSNI spokesperson.
