The two German tourists were in Northern Ireland on a two week holiday.

Boyd Sleator has set up the page to help re-coup the cost of the motorbike – £10,000.

He writes on his page: We are the Let Youth Lead Youth Taking Action Committee; we are working to make positive changes across the Cliftonville area in North Belfast. We are providing a voice for young people and we want to show that young people can play a positive role in our community.

“Today we saw the news that a German couple had their motorbike stolen and burned out, we are in complete and utter disgust as it has forced them to move away from where they are staying and left them financially struggling and extremely upset. We spoke to the couple and got their email address to keep in contact with them. Out of kindness and outrage of the news we would like to try and raise money to help financially support them with their travels around the North and pay them back for this outrageous arson attack. This has disrupted their two week holiday in Belfast and left them distraught.

“As a youth committee we want to help make them happy after such a disgusting action and we hope that this gesture will help them see the positive side of young people and our community.
