A dog has been rescued by the coastguard after falling down a cliff close to Whitepark Bay in north Antrim.
Coleraine and Ballycastle Coastguard Rescue Teams brought the dog to safety after it had fallen and become trapped in a fissure in the cliff.
The teams were able to safely reach the dog and, after a little excavation, the canine was freed unharmed.
It was happily reunited with its owner.
HM Coastguard are often tasked to rescue domestic animals which have fallen, to prevent their owners undertaking dangerous expeditions in a bid to self-rescue their pets.
A coastguard spokesperson is urging all dog owners to keep their pets on leads while walking near cliffs.
If your pet gets into difficulty, do not attempt a rescue yourself. Call 999 and ask for Coastguard.
