A man has been threatened at knifepoint after he offered two people a lift in Crumlin in the early hours of this morning.
The driver of a grey Skoda Octavia was flagged down by two men on Main Street at around 4:30am.
One of the men got into the front and one climbed into the back.
Police say as the driver moved off, he felt what he believed to be a knife, held against his neck.
He was told to get out and the two men then drove off in the direction of the Lurgan Road.
The first man is believed to be in his late 20s, around 5’8” in height, of thin build and clean shaven with short, dark hair.
He had a scar on his right cheek and was wearing a white shirt with dark trousers. He spoke with a Belfast accent.
The second man is thought to be around 6’ in height, of thin build and also in his 20s. He has short, sandy-coloured hair and spoke with a Belfast accent. He was wearing a plain, light blue shirt with dark trousers.
The car, which contained a number of the owner’s work and personal items, was later found burned out at Cidercourt Road.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area between 4.30am and 5am and who saw either of these men or the stolen car – which was grey with a business logo and chevron markings on the doors – to get in touch with police on the non-emergency number 101.
