Residents in the Antrim and Newtownabbey areas can now have their say on their shopping and leisure habits.

Around 800 residents will be surveyed via telephone

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has commissioned work on the Retail and Leisure Study by experts Nexus Planning.

The telephone survey will be conducted by NEMS Market Research, who are based in North-East England. T

And once collated, the information provided by the residents will help give the council a better understanding of how and where people like to shop and spend their leisure time.

The survey should take approximately seven minutes to complete.

Most approaches to residents will be made outside normal working hours to make it easier for employees to take part.

The results of the survey will form the Retail and Leisure Study which will assist the wider planning policy evidence base with regard to future retail development across the Antrim and Newtownabbey area.

Residents can be assured that all information gathered will remain confidential.

Information from the survey will be handled according to the eight Data Protection principles of good information handling practice, as required by the Data Protection Register.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is asking people to take part in the survey.

The council says it greatly appreciates all responses. Anyone who may be contacted is under no obligation to take part in the telephone survey.
