Drugs and cash seized in Newtownabbey

A quantity of Class C controlled drugs and a sum of cash has been seized in Newtownabbey by the Paramilitary Crime Task Force.

Officers with HMRC, conducted a search of a residential property earlier today (Wednesday 21 July).


Various other items have been seized and these will be the subject of ongoing investigative enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly said the removal of these harmful drugs from the streets reflects the police’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding vulnerable members of the community.

“The possession and distribution of drugs within communities will not and should not be tolerated and we will continue our campaign against those who are intent on profiting from the significant harm caused by drugs criminality and activity.
