DUP candidate Thomas Hogg who was convicted of drink-driving has almost doubled his vote in this year’s election.

The 30-year-old former mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, was re-elected on the first stage of the count with 999 votes.
The Macedon DEA councillor polled 581 votes in the last local government election in 2014.
