Family members were left terrified after a man armed with a knife entered the property and made off with a bag and a number of electronic items.
The incident occurred at Collingwood Avenue in south Belfast in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 20 March).
Detectives are investigating the report of the aggravated burglary at the house which occurred just before 4am.
Detective Sergeant O’Flaherty said a man, armed with a knife, entered the property and subsequently made off with a black puma bag and a number of electronic items.
“The family, who were home at the time, were not physically harmed; nonetheless this would have been a terrifying experience for them,” added the Detective Sergeant.
The male intruder is described as being aged in his 40s, with dark hair, and approximately 5ft 8 in height. He is believed to have been wearing a black jacket with white writing on the sleeve and grey tracksuit bottoms.
“We are appealing to anyone with information, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, to please get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number 98 of 20/03/19,” added the Detective Sergeant.
