A dog was killed by a speeding motorist in the Galliagh area of Derry/Londonderry in what police say was a ‘heartless act.’
Police have arrested a man in relation to the incident which occurred at Fern Park on Thursday (May 10) at around 1pm.
The vehicle made off at speed across Leafair Field towards Glencaw Park.
Police seized a silver Toyota Corolla Verso the following day. They believe this vehicle was involved in the incident.
They say they are continuing to ‘investigate this heartless act vigorously.’
Police still need the help of the public and want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has dash cam footage.
