Staff at a fast food outlet were left badly shaken after an attempted robbery in the early hours of this morning (Friday, December 7) in south Belfast.
A man approached the till but was wrestled out of the premises on the Ormeau Road by three members of staff.
He left the scene empty handed. The suspect was wearing a white motorcycle helmet with red stripes, a green khaki jacket and dark coloured jeans. He was carrying a black sports bag with a white stripe.
The members of staff were not injured during this incident, but they were very badly shaken.
Detectives are appealing for information following the attempted robbery.
Detective Sergeant Sam McCallum is appealing to anyone who saw the man fleeing from the scene or anyone who has information that would assist with police enquiries, to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 166 07/12/18.
