Hospitals ‘under serious pressure’ as 56 people in Antrim A&E await admission

This evening (Friday) there are a minimum of 56 ill patients in Antrim Emergency department who require admission to the hospital.

The Northern Trust says its hospitals are under serious pressure.

Antrim Area Hospital is operating at 110% occupancy and Causeway at 104%.
The 56 patients in Antrim Emergency Dept who require admission will have no bed until we can get patients discharged.
If you can help to reduce the pressure on our service by assisting with discharges it would be greatly appreciated, the Trust says.
The message is please only attend the emergency department if you require urgent care. If your condition is life threatening please call 999.
