The occupants of a house in Hannahstown extinguished a fire caused by a suspected petrol bomb last night.
Damage was caused to a window as a result of the fire. The three adult women and an adult man were not injured as a result of the incident.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the arson attack on the house at Wheelers Road.
Police say they received a report just before midnight that someone had attempted to set fire to a house in the area.
The occupants of the house managed to extinguish the fire before it took hold on the property. When police arrived, they discovered the remnants of what is believed to have been a petrol bomb at the front of the house.
Detectives are treating the incident as arson with intent to endanger life and Detective Sergeant Edwards is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Lisburn on 101 quoting reference 1575 03/11/18.
