Laptops, a Playstation, a mobile phone and a wallet are among the items stolen in two burglaries in the Ravenhill area of south Belfast during the early hours of the morning.
Police are investigating a link between the two.
Entry was gained to a house in Ardenlee Place sometime during the early hours of the morning. Two laptops and a Playstation console were reported to have been stolen during the incident. Entry was also gained to a house in Ardenlee Crescent and a bag containing a laptop, mobile phone and wallet was stolen.
Detective Sergeant Corrigan said police are investigating a possible link between both incidents.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed any unusual activity or anyone who is offered similar items in suspicious circumstances to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 445 07/12/19.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added the Detective Sergeant.
Detective Sergeant Corrigan continued: “We are aware of the impact that burglaries can have. Don’t make it easy for the opportunistic burglar – stay alert to your surroundings and report anything suspicious to police immediately.
“With the darker nights and Christmas fast approaching, I’m keen to stress that crime prevention advice is readily available to everyone. Please take every action possible to deter the opportunistic burglar.
“Please ensure that all doors and windows are secured, even when at home and please keep all valuables out of sight.”
