A 24-year-old man has been released on bail following an alleged assault in Carnmoney which resulted in a man sustaining serious injuries.
Police received a report of an assault in the Fairview Lane area shortly after 2.40am on Sunday morning.
Detective Sergeant Macaulay said the man remains in hospital at this time – however the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A woman also needed hospital treatment for an injury to her arm.
“A 24-year-old man was later arrested for grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries,” said the Detective Sergeant.
