A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital after being attacked in Moneymore.
The man was set upon in the Millrace Drive area at around 10pm last night (Sunday 17 March).
Detectives are investigating the attack.
Detective Sergeant Paul Robinson said police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
“We are working to establish what exactly has happened and would appeal to anyone who can assist to please contact police in Cookstown on 101, quoting reference 1523 17/03/19,” he added.
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
