A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a coach on the Portaferry Road just outside Newtownards yesterday (Sunday).
Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance, dealt with the incident just before 3pm yesterday.
Police say the man who died was 45.
This was the second serious crash to have occurred on the same road at the weekend.
A man rescued an unconscious driver from his burning car as it burst into flames on Saturday. Police praised him for his actions.
This latest crash has prompted social media users to demand traffic calming measures on what they say is a ‘dangerous stretch.’
Sergeant Jonny Mackenzie is appealing to anyone who was travelling along this road and may have witnessed this collision or have dashcam footage that would assist in police enquiries to contact them in Newtownards on the non-emergency number 101.
