A 46-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences following an alleged assault on a pregnant woman in north Belfast on Thursday.
Police say the charge are in connection with an alleged ‘serious assault’ on a pregnant woman at Ainsworth Drive on August 6. The woman is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
The man is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (August 8) charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon and grievous bodily harm with intent.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.
