A man armed with a knife has escaped with a sum of cash following an armed robbery at a shop on the Ormeau Road in south Belfast this afternoon (Monday 24 August).
The incident happened just after 1pm. A staff member was not injured but left badly shaken after he was threatened.
The suspect made off from the shop with a sum of money towards Baroda Street following the incident.
The suspect is described as being aged in his 30s, of medium build and 6ft tall. He was wearing a light blue hooded top with a white pattern on it, grey tracksuit bottoms and blue, black and white trainers. The man was also wearing a blue, disposable facemask during the incident.
Detective Sergeant Corrigan is appealing for witnesses.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 960 24/08/20.
